Telling the Prince and the Pauper-styled tale of Ringo and his fictional look-a-like Ognir Rrats, whom he trades places with, this 44-minute TV musical special was narrated by George Harrison and broadcast in the US on 26 April 1978 and in the UK on 2 January 1983.
It featured Starr performing songs from his Bad Boy album and older material, including Yellow Submarine, You’re Sixteen (along with the late Carrie Fisher), With a Little Help From My Friends and Hard Times.
Among the celebrity guest stars are John Ritter, Angie Dickinson, Mike Douglas (as himself), Art Carney (as Ognir’s dad) and Vincent Price, who plays a hypnotherapist called Dr Nancy. Check out Vincent’s cameo at 30:00.
