Brigham Young (1940)

Starring Academy Award-winning Latter-day Saint actor Dean Jagger as Brigham Young, this is the story of the famed Mormon leader's epic cross-country plight to settle his people in Salt Lake City, Utah. Along with Tyrone Power, Linda Darnell (the uncredited 'Beautiful lady' in The Song of Bernadette) and Vincent Price, this is an old-fashioned, patriotic western adventure.

Vincent has barely a few minutes screen time, playing the doomed prophet Joseph Smith who meets an untimely end at the hands of a baying mob in the film's opening. But he does get in a touching monologue before he meets his maker..

Stay tuned. A sound clip will appear here soon.
