The Story of Colonel Drake
(1954)

In 1857 Edwin L. Drake (Vincent Price) is sent to investigate an oil seep in a creek near Titusville, Pennsylvania. After overcoming many obstacles, Drake finally strikes oil in August of 1859, bringing about the start of the oil industry in the US.

This film is shown and available through the Drake Well Museum in Titusville. Check it out sometime.
