In this gem of a western, comedy, musical, Edward (Donald O'Connor) is a stagehand for a travelling repertory troupe who falls for young actress Julie (Gale Storm). But things go awry when Edward gets mixed up with an outlaw Rimrock (Walter Brennan) hiding out within the company to escape the law.

As the troupe's hammy leading man Tracy Holland, Vinnie does what he does best ‚ comedy. What a hoot!
