Ricardo Montalban plays a former slave who returns to San Salvador to stop anyone who makes money at the expense of another's freedom. Unfortunately, his schemes go awry and he ends up in prison by the evil secretary of the nation's governor (Vincent Price) who, like Montalban, has his eyes on the governor¹s daughter.

This el-sheapo Italian swashbuckler which Price did purely to have a holiday abroad is actually a colourful, fun, costume romp with Price at his sinister best as the slave trader Romero, battling Montalban (of Fantasy Island fame). The video/DVD cover above was released the UK as The Black Pirate.
