Theme song

"The Brady Bunch" by Frank DeVol and Sherwood Schwartz

Here's the story of a lovely lady

Who was bringing up three very lovely girls.

All of them had hair of gold, like their mother,

The youngest one in curls.

Here's the story, of a man named Brady,

Who was busy with three boys of his own,

They were four men, living all together,

Yet they were all alone.

Till the one day when the lady met this fellow

And they knew it was much more than a hunch,

That this group would somehow form a family.

That's the way we all became the Brady Bunch.

The Brady Bunch,

That's the way we all became the Brady Bunch.

The Brady Bunch.

The Brady Bunch was one of the last of the old-style, fun-around-the-house situation comedies, full of well-scrubbed children, trivial adventures, and relentlessly middle-class parents. The premise here was a kind of conglomerate family, formed by a widow with three daughters who married a widower with three sons; a nutty housekeeper, Alice, thrown in to act as referee; . . . and a shaggy dog, Tiger. All of these smiling faces lived in a four-bedroom, two-bathroom house in the Los Angeles suburbs, from which Dad pursued his nice, clean profession as a designer and architect. Typical stories revolved around the children going steady, family camping trips, competition for the family telephone, . . . and of course war in the bathroom.

Episode 3, March 4, 1977

Merrill shows Greg the broken-down apartment.  It has a sofa with a leg missing.  "For your posture," says Merrill.  Someone knocks.  "He who holds the key to this chamber, prepare to receive me within," comes the voice from the hall.  The guest is surprised to find that Merrill and Greg are still warm.  He claims to be investigating a ghost.  They realize he's Vincent Price.  Price insists Greg is a ghost named Binky Beaumont. Merrill leaves in a hurry.  Price relates the story of Zelda Myzkowski, who was pecked silly by an oversized cuckoo in her clock.  He warns Greg not to kill any flies.
